About the independent brand:
Neighbourhood Coffee are the first speciality roasters in Liverpool. They are a small team who are passionate about bringing great coffee to the city by sourcing, roasting and brewing the finest coffee. They have built great relationships with their coffee farmers, and pay them well above the current fair trade price for their sustainably grown beans. All coffee of their coffee comes in pouches that great for keeping your coffee fresh, and are widely recycled.
Where the coffee is grown:
Grown by a community of farmers who sell their coffee together, this pulped natural lot from the community of Posses, near Machado in southern Minas Gerais.
The sourcing project in Posses has been running for a few years, resulting in better quality, better prices and new markets for the farmers to sell to. It’s administered and facilitated by Legender Coffees, who run this model in several neighbouring communities.
Colombia Cauca regional lot:
Cauca state is one of the great Colombian coffee growing regions, and we’ve sourced several coffees from here in the past, as well as visited last year. This is a blend of coffees from small farms near Popayàn, processed via the fully washed method. It brings some fruit (melon sweetness, lemon acidity) and lashings of caramel to the blend.
Planet friendly packaging:
Packaged in a recyclable pouch, simply peel off the sticker (not yet recyclable) and place with your household recycling.
How to store:
Re-seal your bag when not in use, or store the coffee in an airtight container. Do not store in the fridge, your coffee will retain it's flavour best when kept at room temperature.
After use, why not place the ground coffee in your garden (it's great for the soil) or try making your own coffee scrubs? If not, it can be composted or disposed of in organic waste.
