About the brand:
Nemi is a specialist London-based tea company that offers a variety of whole-leaf tea blends both as loose-tea and teabags.
They provide employment to refugees to give them local work experience and job readiness skills to enter the UK workforce and help them integrate into broader society.
Their pyramid tea bags are 100% biodegradable and made from soilon - a mesh material constructed from polylactic acid and derived from starch. Even the string and labels are both attached using ultrasound rather than glue!
Instructions for use:
Brew for 3-4 minutes in 90° water according to your preferred strength.
How to dispose of them? Teabags will degrade quickest if you pop them in the compost heap. How long does it take to biodegrade? Within a month in the compost. In less favourable conditions, like water, about 6 months. And to those who’re wondering what it degrades to - the pyramid teabags convert to nothing but CO2 and water!
Fairtrade & Organic-certified Peppermint Leaf tea
Both teabags and loose-leaf tea are packed in a material called NatureFlex, which is a type of cellulose. Suitable for home composting. All teas come in a recyclable tube, that has a recycled plastic window. The tube are great for repurposing as pen pots, or however else you fancy.
